The Gao Block
The Gao Block is a specialized test part developed by Dr. Youping Gao—founder of Castheon and now Chief Scientist at ADDMAN—to support the advancement of metal additive manufacturing process development. Designed with complex geometries, including overhangs, undercuts, and fine-feature details, the Gao Block presents the kinds of challenges that reveal how process parameters truly perform.
By evaluating variables such as laser power, scan strategy, and layer thickness using this benchmark part, Dr. Gao and the engineering teams at ADDMAN are able to refine and validate new metal AM processes with precision.
