Dr. Jacob Rindler, Ph.D.

Director of Materials and Manufacturng Technology

Jacob Rindler is the Director of Materials and Manufacturing Technology and Castheon Site Leader for ADDMAN. In these capacities, he oversees teams dedicated to pioneering high-performance additively manufactured solutions tailored for the aerospace and defense industries. Prior to his current roles, Dr. Rindler distinguished himself as the Additive Manufacturing Technology Leader at the Ohio State University’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence, amassing over a decade of expertise in Additive and Advanced Manufacturing. His journey includes pivotal roles at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems and Boeing Research and Technology, where he spearheaded the development of additive manufacturing and advanced metals technologies.

Dr. Rindler’s influence extends beyond his primary roles. He chairs the advisory group for America Makes Digital Store Front, contributes to process working groups, and actively participates in AWS and ASTM standardization initiatives for additive manufacturing. Renowned for his insights, he has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences. His dedication has earned him prestigious accolades, including selection as an Air Force Research Lab visiting scholar, recognition as an ASTM young leader in additive manufacturing in 2020, and inclusion in SME’s 30 under 30 list for his exceptional contributions to manufacturing in 2021.

With a research focus on the intricate relationships between process, structure, and properties of high-temperature and structural metals, Dr. Rindler completed his academic journey at the Ohio State University, obtaining his BS, MS, and Ph.D. in welding engineering.
